For months now since Carrie Fishers passing Star Wars fans have been expecting that the up and coming Star Wars film "The Last Jedi" would be re-written to include Princess Lia's death. Today however Disney CEO Bob Igertold Hollywood Reporter this:
"When we bought Lucasfilm, we were going to make three films — Episodes VII, VIII and IX. We had to deal with tragedy at the end of 2016. Carrie appears throughout VIII. We are not changing VIII to deal with her passing. Her performance remains as it is in VIII. In Rogue One, we had some digital character. We are not doing that with Carrie."
Ok Bob, eventually Disney is going to have to somehow address Princess Leia's death in the films so it is probably safe to safe Princess Leia's death will occur in episode nine.
